Senior Care Centers: Attuned to the Market
In 1996 we built our first Independent Living Community-The
Legacy Retirement Residence. In 1998, Bountiful House Assisted Living opened.
Since that time we have, on average, opened one Assisted Living Community per
year. We have developed a formula and philosophy for senior living that works,
and we apply it to all properties that we own and manage. Western States handles
everything from start-up to stabilization. We manage the government process,
which is complicated, and we manage family relationships, which can be
sensitive. Western States is a leader at census development, marketing and
employee relations. We offer stability, both in management and as a corporate
owner-characteristics that are important to both our residents and investors.
Additionally, we work hard to provide value and an affordable service to our
residents and their families. Our communities are gracious, well kept and
pleasantly decorated. We offer residents larger apartments and more choice.
Western States offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and
Alzheimer's facilities.
Ideal for individuals who do not require personal or medical care, but choose
not to live alone or at home. Our communities are equipped with special safety
features to make it easier for residents to get around. It is a wonderful place
for seniors to be with others that share similar interests. Many recreational
activities are planned including day field trips, shopping excursions and
on-premise projects. Our communities offer optional meal plans for residents and
our beautiful, spacious apartments are equipped with a kitchen so the resident
can prepare their own meals if they so choose.
Assisted Living, as defined by our industry, is a "special combination of
housing, personalized supportive services, and health care designed to meet the
needs-both scheduled and unscheduled-of those who require help with activities
of daily living." (Assisted Living Federation of America). At our Assisted
Living communities, we provide these personalized services and health care
through our Levels of Care Program. After an assessment, your needs will be
determined and your level of services and care will be established. We offer four
levels of care: Independent Care, Primary Care, Extended Care, and Comprehensive
Care. Your level of care and service will be based on your unique and individual
needs and discussed with you by our staff.
Our Cottage is a special area within our Assisted Living
Communities for those with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Our staff is
specially trained to assist those whose behaviors and actions are challenging.
Our Cottage space is designed to limit confusion, yet allows for free movement
in a safe and secure environment. If you're caring for a loved one with
Alzheimer's disease or another dementia, you know how difficult and stressful
life can be. The Cottage will help you.
